Where will my order ship from?

Can I return an order?

You can return any unused/unworn item(s) purchased from www.abususa.com within 30 days of receiving the order.  We are not able to process returns for ABUS items purchased from a retailer or from any other on-line seller through this site. **Please note, custom or personalized items cannot be returned.**

If you created an ABUS customer account, you can start the return process directly in your customer account.  If you have placed your order as a guest, you can email us at customerservice@abus.com to receive a Return Authorization number (RA#) and instructions on how to process your return.

Please include your name, mailing address, and order number for us to access the order information.  We will reply with a return authorization number (RA#) and instructions on how and where to return your ABUS item(s).    

Return your order:

Please properly pack the product(s) you wish to return in a box suitable for parcel shipping, with the RA# clearly marked on the outer carton.  Include the original packaging with sufficient packing materials to ensure that product arrives in new, sellable condition.  Do not put shipping labels directly on retail packaging. 

Please clearly write the RA# on the outside of your shipping carton.

Once your return arrives at our warehouse, the refund will be processed within 3-5 business days.  Refunds will be made via the payment method used for the order.  Shipping costs will not be refunded, only the purchase price of the product and any applicable sales tax.

Please note:  Returned products must be in new, unused condition, and returned in the original packaging in sellable condition.  ABUS reserves the right to reject product due to damage caused by insufficient packaging.  ABUS is not responsible for returns that are lost or damaged, so please declare the correct product value when returning a product.   

Note:  If you made a purchase during a promotional period that included a free gift with purchase, the free gift must also be returned in new, unused condition to receive a full refund.  If the free gift is not returned, we will deduct the regular retail value (MSRP) of the free gift from the refund amount.  

Can I exchange an order?

Exchanges?

It is not possible to "exchange" products.  However, if you are within the 30 day return window and your item is still in new, unused condition, you can return your item.  Once received in our warehouse, your money will then be refunded and you can place a new order. See product returns for more information.

How do I know if the website selling ABUS is legitimate?

ABUS has recently observed an increase in fraudulent websites and social media ads offering counterfeit products and enticing discounts to deceive customers. These malicious sites scrape content from the authentic ABUS website and create fake storefronts with similar URLs, often failing to deliver legitimate products after payment. Does ABUS offer a crash replacement for helmets?
The ABUS crash replacement program is available only to customers in the United States and for helmets purchased from retailers within the United States. If you are outside of the USA, or if you purchased your helmet from a retailer outside the USA, please contact the ABUS distributor in that country to see if there is a crash replacement program available in that country.
If an ABUS bicycle helmet has been involved in an accident, you may be eligible for a 25% discount on a new ABUS helmet. The replacement helmet will be the same model as your original helmet if that model is available.  If the same model is not available, the replacement helmet will be the nearest model in price, size and color available in ABUS’s current product line. The crash replacement program is valid for 2 years from your date ofpurchase of the helmet and is only valid once per purchased helmet. To see if your helmet qualifies, please contact ABUS U.S.A.: (312) 640-1111 or email us at customerservice@abus.com. If you are eligible, you will not be charged shipping and handling for the replacement helmet.
To qualify for the crash replacement program, you will need the following information to process a claim:
 REQUIRED INFORMATION
  • Contact info: full name, phone number, email address, and shipping address
  • ABUS helmet model, serial number and manufacture date (located on a sticker inside your helmet) 
  • ABUS helmet size and color
  • Description of the incident
  • Picture(s) of the damaged ABUShelmet
  • Proof of purchase

ABUS cares about your safety and reminds you never to wear a helmet that has been involved in an accident. ABUS recommends replacing helmets at least after 5 years.
Does ABUS offer theft insurance?

ABUS does not offer theft insurance.

For more than 100 years, we have manufactured locks of all types, styles, and security levels. We strongly believe in our products which are proven to be amongst the best locks in the world. However, it is up to you to decide which level of security is needed for your application and how many different types of security are required to keep your possession(s) safe - based on where and how long your (bike/motorcycle/boat/house...) will be left unattended.
